Questions, answered
What is Pet Shark?
Pet Shark is a free 3D live wallpaper and animated shark aquarium for Android. Choose a detailed Great White or Hammerhead shark that hunts fish in real time, and you can run it as a standalone app or apply it as your system live wallpaper.
Is Pet Shark free? What does the unlock do?
Pet Shark is free to use, and every start begins with 3 fresh fish, so your shark always has a hunt to watch. 200 double-tap throws are included to add extra fish and trigger Frenzy Feed. After that, your shark keeps hunting, cruising and answering your summon. One optional one-time purchase unlocks unlimited double-tap throws, with no subscription.
Is Pet Shark a virtual pet?
Yes, with no chores. Your shark lives on your phone as a 3D wallpaper and aquarium, and you play with it by throwing fish and summoning it to the front of the screen. There are no hunger meters, tanks to clean or punishment timers.
How do the fish throwing and shark AI work?
Double-tap your home screen wallpaper or the app view to instantly spawn new fish and launch a pursuit. The shark runs on reactive predator algorithms, so it stalks, circles and strikes in real time. Every fish gets randomized speed, agility and intelligence, which gives you swift dashers, zig-zag escape loops and smart schooling that challenge its hunting paths. On the lock screen the shark keeps swimming, but double-tap feeding is disabled there.
Will it drain my battery as a live wallpaper?
It's designed not to. Rendering pauses as soon as your screen turns off or another app covers it, so the 3D engine isn't running when you can't see it. Choose 30 FPS in the Pet Shark Hub for even longer battery life.
Are there really no ads and no app tracking?
Yes. The Pet Shark Android app has zero advertisements and no app usage analytics or tracking. It does not collect your location or share app usage data with advertising or analytics networks. Your settings and preferences stay on your device. The Pet Shark website uses Google Analytics to measure website traffic and usage.
How do I set the animated shark wallpaper on Android?
Open the Pet Shark app, tap Settings to open the Pet Shark Hub, tap Apply Live Wallpaper, then choose Home Screen, or Home and Lock Screen.
